A (Possible) Background of Isabella Thornton & Guy of Gisborne - And What Happens Next...?
PLEASE DISCUSS! - No Spoilers - Only Speculation - RH S3
For several weeks now, the possible background of the Gisborne kids, especially Isabella’s, has been bouncing around in my mind - brain cells pinging about like a bad Pachinko game. (No, not fun. And

Wait. Huh? I seem to be remembering Richard Armitage saying in an interview somewhere, at sometime, that the Gisbornes LOST everything in the Norman Conquest. Do I have this wrong? Or are you disregarding this statement in favor of your own narrative? Perfectly acceptable to do so, but thought I'd better ask, right of the bat as that does alter the land possession aspect, etc.
Oh dear - no, I'd never heard that before! I'm pretty sure I've never even heard it (rather than just forgetting it), because I've been mulling over my ideas about Guy's past since the first season, so I probably would have incorporated information like that if I'd known about it... Thank you for telling me! Do you know if he said it recently or not? I'm asking because I heard him say in a season 3 interview (GMTV, I think) that he and Robin knew each other as children - now, I assume that comes into play in the flashback episode, but I'd never picked up on anything that suggested this was the case in seasons 1 or 2, so I reckon maybe the writers change their mind about this kind of thing a bit :)
I'll have to change my back story quite a bit to accommodate that now! Though a little tweak here and there could result in something compatible, I guess!
Are you considering writing a fic encompassing these details? As a possible AU to what was announced today? I'd read it!
Thank you!! I've been thinking about the potential for a fic for ages and ages, but so far all these thoughts just exist in my head :) I haven't actually read the press release for ep 10 yet though, because I want to stay unspoilered. I read the resume of ep 9 and wished I hadn't, so I was strong and stopped myself when I saw the link for 10! But maybe I'll wait until the season finishes before I write anything...
Thanks again for reading and commenting. I really did want to hear other people's thoughts on this. ;-) And CONGRATS on your abstract being accepted! That's great and very exciting. ;-)
Thank you, that's so kind of you! And it's been brilliant talking to you about it, you have such great ideas. I especially liked everything you said about Isabella too, I thinkt hat all sounds spot on!

Wait! Don't do that until you confirm this info, for heaven's sake! He said it in an interview some time ago, and he could have been referring to the Gisbornes historically, I mean a few generations back. Please check prior to editing. I don't want to wracked with inadverntent-misdirecting-writer-guilt!! ;-)
But maybe I'll wait until the season finishes before I write anything...
I don't want to spoil you, but this may be VERY wise for background clarification purposes, if nothing else.
Thank you, that's so kind of you! And it's been brilliant talking to you about it, you have such great ideas. I especially liked everything you said about Isabella too, I thinkt hat all sounds spot on! Thanks! I'm glad my ideas may have helped. And Issy is a bit of a complex puzzle to unravel, so it was fun to play "what it?" with her. We shall see.

Don't worry, if I change y mind about everything it's not your fault :) I'll do plenty of digging before I come up with anything written anyway. Most of my ideas just float around in my head, so refining them isn't too hard :)
I can't wait to see what happens. It's nice not being spoilered, but I'm gagging for the information. Still, I'll enjoy it more not knowing!

Well, that's a relief! I was worried for you...;-) We've got four more weeks, so we'll see.
