First off...here is the 4th and final painting for the Thriving Artist project. You can find the others I finished on my Flickrstream. The 5th high-level donor decided on a sculpture of Pete the Penguin holding a globe. Don't remember if I posted that here or not.

Personally, I prefer the top one. I would, however, like to see more transition / transparency in the change from sky to space, OR perhaps have the transition begin closer to the edge (not as much sky as there is now). Right now, the first thing I thought of is that it seems kinda of like the an 'exiting wormhole or some sort of hyperspace jump' special effect. However, I guess it depends on what you're going for. After thinking about it, I can see why having more discrete sections would be a good thing.

I do like how the second one looks, though I find myself staring at it and trying to place it. A perfect midday sky in the middle of space? Is it a tear in reality? Is it an impossibly color nebula? Mmm... I -do- like holes in the fabric of the universe, though.

haha, yes they are both space holes of some sort. They have very different connotations though they are really similar, dont they? I think I might go ahead and do both because seeing them side by side makes it even more complex.

I really love the top one. I would put a print of that on my wall:). It's so cool!

I think both are awesome. They'd be a cool set. :D Possibly a slightly larger "hole" of space in the first one?
