Dark Xmas Day Deux
Some great things are happening!
*I got 3 myspace friends out of the show
*One guy has requested me to help design props/sets for a movie he's working on. EEEEEE This is so what I want to do! I'm so excited. He emailed me and gushed about how my art was just what he was imagining in his story for a dream sequence with a fantasy world, so he wants my input and maybe art to put in use during production. FUNFUNFUN
*it was suggested that I get portraits done of myself to sell, because males like looking at pritty pictures of females..HAHAAAAA interesting nonetheless.
*I got a picture taken with Tony Todd, and had him sign my well worn 10 year old VHS tape of The Rock. He probably thought it was lame but I thought it was awesome! Hey someday VHS will be the new vintage. I for one still love them. Be kind, rewind.
*Unfortunately, I have not made it to breaking even yet, which is frustrating and annoying. Other vendors are having even more trouble than me though, so it's not my product. It's the customers. There was a LACK of them this year, and many people complained. I'm happy enough that people are enjoying my work and I'm getting contacts, conversations and networking out of it. And next time the entry fee will be half of what I paid this year, because I will do it WAY in advance so it will be cheap. There's another show coming up in May which looks promising.
Yes, I'm getting really into this! All that's left is to make it monetarily profitable and I will be crazy happy. I'm going to take this seriously and be working on more products. And real "arts" too for shows like Art Youngstown's. It's embarassing that I'm putting in 3 year old paintings into their show because I don't have other things prepared. But larger oils are the easiest things to show in a gallery, so that's what they're getting for now.
I SOOOO NEED TO decide on what to do for a website. Like for reallydeallyo. Fo sho. Now!!
