So it turns out that dead skin rotting on your body smells really really bad. It makes, say, socks you wear over dead skin for hours on end inside a sweaty boot stink with said smell.

I know this because I have a healing wound that is comprised mainly of dead, rotting skin, since rather than being a normal scalpel line sewed back together it was torn apart and overlapped.

So yeah, it smells. Bad.
