It's been a busy last couple of days

Yesterday went went to all the places I listed in my earlier entry. At the Featherdale Wildlife Park I got my picture taken up close with a koala and feeding kangaroos. New Facebook picture when I get home! I also took pictures of many other animals only found in Australia such as Wallabies, Wambats, and Dingos. After the Wildlife Park we went to the Olympic Village. We saw the main Stadium from the outside and all of these poles that had the name of every person that participated in the games. We also got to go inside the Aquatic Center. We also drove around and saw other buildings where things like gymnastics, judo, and ping pong were held. The place was huge and very clean. After that we drove to Bondi Beach which is a pretty famous beach is Australia. We ate our packed lunches there and watched people surf. I even got my picture taken standing in the South Pacific. After that we drove around to a couple other places that were on the water. I'm sure the names mean nothing to you all but I'll list some of them anyways. We went to Watson's Bay, Rose Bay, and Circular Quay (pronounced like key). We also caught the end of a Rugby game. We went after half so we could get in for free. At night my roommates and I just got a couple bottles of wine and hung out in the room. We had a good time sipping wine and playing cards.

Today we went to see and Australian Rules Football game. It's different than football played in America. It's played on a circular field and there are 4 goal posts. If you get it through the center 2 it's worth 6 points but if you miss there is a pole on each side, so if you make it through those you still get a point. This probably doesn't make much sense. You can also run with the ball, but you must bounce it after you run so many meters. You can punt the ball to each other too. The refs throw the ball into everyone behind their heads backwards if it goes out of bounce. Unfortunately the team we wanted to win lost, the Western Bulldogs. We were invited to the after function because our professor is a member. So we were able to meet some of the players and get our pictures taken with them. Then we headed to Circular Quay to get some dinner. We ate at this cute little place on the water overlooking the Harbor Bridge and the Opera house. It was already dark by dinner time too because it's winter here so the sun as been setting earlier.

Tomorrow we have class again. Our current plans are to go to the Opera House to see a ballet at night tomorrow. Talk to you all again soon. Cheers!
