A long journey in a short time
And so, it was announced this past Thursday. Subsequent to two nominations for doing an exceptional job on two separate projects. I wasn't even around for any of it. I have a knack for timing, eh?
When I arrived back in the office, the meeting had been over and I was greeted with mixed feelings. Some questioned, some thought they knew exactly what was going on through my mind. Sometimes, you just don't realize how much of an impact you have on people till they come up to you and ask you "why?".
The most surprising was Sisy who was welled up in tears. I really didn't realize. I gave her a hug to apologize and also to assure her that things would be okay. Jenny also apologized for not spending the time she had always intended to with me for our weekend brunches.
I just wanted to go up to everyone and tell them that I'll remember everything. Really. Truly. Every moment.
I will miss Sydney for all it was and what it wasn't.
It was an amazing experience.
It wasn't a mistake.
I'd just like to think that I finished my journey earlier than expected.
