So my first kickball game was scheduled for Saturday, and we were supposed to play the Gamecocks. Big rivalry game for the first one! I would love to bring news of a crushing defeat of the evil USC, however I cannot. But we didn't lose either. It got rained out. Kelly, Erin, and I were on our way to the park (and traffic was a bitch!) and we were late already (not our fault, we were waiting for someone else!) However, we were almost there and it started pouring, with huge thunder and lightning, and we got a call that the game was cancelled. Normally they keep playing in rain, but not with the lightning. So we just went directly to the league bar instead.
We stayed there for a while, and then I went back to Erin's place and chilled for a little, and then, wearing mostly her and kelly's stuff, we went to Buckhead with Joey and met up with some people he knew. We cabbed it to the Red Door, and then walked to East Andrew's (which is a little pompous for my taste). It was fun and I talked to a few new people, but mainly to the people I came with. My mom always wants to know if I met someone new when we go out, and I always tell her no. Do other people really meet people in bars? My friends and I just go and talk to each other, for the most part. Whenever I meet someone new, it's usually a friend of a friend. Maybe this is why my friends and I are always complaining about not knowing anyone. But my sister, the social butterfly, doesn' t meet strange people in bars either, and she goes out way more than me.
Is it just us? Or do you actually talk to/hang out/ go out with people you meet in bars?
Anyway, I did some work tonight, seeing as I spent yesterday recovering from going to bed around 530 am. So I'm again behind on my to-do list. Grr. I might have to bring some work with me to Martha's Vineyard. Grr.
