I'm a bit confused, to say the least.

So, for years and years now, I've been told by multiple people I am one of those people begging for a makeover. Sort of. That they could do so much with me if I changed my hair or my clothes or put on a little makeup.

I rejected a lot of this for years, choosing comfort over the latest fashion, and letting my work at school speak for me through my jeans and hoodies.

Today it all came to a head. After assessing my clothes, hair, shoes, jewelery and general lack of style, two of my coworkers established my too-big black Tommy Hilfiger pants made me look like I had a 'Grandpa ass' and my sweet Danier leather jacket was two sizes too big.

Tomorrow is the 'trial run' to the first part of a makeover. I am to wear heels, shave my legs, wear a pencil skirt, and no necklace. If i didn't have 4g plugs in my ears, I would have probably been instructed to wear 'fancier' earrings too.

Why all of this in the first place? So I can impress a guy at work who my friends think briefly considered the idea of dating me when told I was also single last week.

While I'm all for dating, nice, hot, educated guys (and he drives a BMW convertible!), this sort of reeks of false pretenses. Everything appearance wise about me seems to suck. What? I'm suddenly more attractive because I wear proper fitting pants?

My blue-streaked hair and blue nailpolish (professionally manicured, natch, but chipping) are no-go's.

My 'comfy' dress pants? No-go's (relegated to the gym or my house, even if they are brand-name dress pants).

My brand new Gap brown argyle socks? Nada. (God I how love them anyway.)

Even the way I wore my bra was apparently wrong. (They make your boobs look saggier than they really are, my friends say. Tighten those straps!)

So now, even though I have work tomorrow at 8:30am 8:25am, I am going to go shave my legs and try and figure out what the hell I'm going to wear tomorrow on my 'dry run'.

Vanity. Man, I had no idea how much work it really takes.
