Bowl, reddish-brown earthenware, massively potted, covered on the front and back with a presumed tin-glaze. Painted on the front, somewhat in relief a contour panel surrounding two angels, supporting a shield of arms of inverted tear-drop shape; quarterly 1 & 4 white a serpent blue with yellow spots devouring a child purple; 2 & 3 yellow a single-headed eagle displayed crowned. The arms are those for Visconti and Sforza, Dukes of Milan, in reverse.
