Ah, Summer
Sorry I haven't been around LJ much, you guys. But it's summertime. Rainy season is over. More stuff to do when the sun comes out. Important things like...um, I dunno...going outside. Nothing like sitting out on the porch watching my kid play and then sitting on the porch again after dinner when a couple of friends come over, drinking our beer, shooting the shit, and watching the fireflies as it gets dark.
I'll never understand these people that have the ability to get on the internet at any time and any place. Why? Is the internet(and this lame-ass website, for that matter)so fucking awesome that people are willing to interrupt real-life fun and relaxation to plug themselves into the machine? Do people really want to pre-empt a life that's already too short with a summer subordinated to cat macros? Are memes really that funny that folks want to see another variation of Advice Dog or the truly ancient "I have no idea what you are saying so here is an (insert something odd in the brackets)"? I've started to grow tired of memes. I consider a meme to be old and clichéd at about the 24-hour mark after hearing them. In fact, the whole idea of memes is old meme to me. NOT THAT I'M JADED OR ANYTHING LMAO...
True story: People around this website have actually told me that livejournal is a productive use of their time. When asked what this time useage actually produces they shift gears and say that they learn something. Learn what? How often can that happen? Most of the time you're supposedly learning something what you're being told is either a) blatantly obvious b) hyperbole and opinion or c) available somewhere else with a little research.
I've even had some stuffed shirts around here tell me that the internet is a real place.

The internet is ultimately just a time-waster to me. Nothing less. Nothing more. You know why I'm here at the moment? I have a few minutes to kill before going outside again!
Anyway, we went to the St. Louis Zoo three weeks ago. I'll get around to posting some pics eventually when I have more time to upload them and all of that horseshit. See ya' then!
Oh, and try to go outside a little more often until that time, okay? lol!
