I'm going to kill whoever managed to gather dresses for all of us. Then, when I'm done I'm going to kill Lee for being an idiot and for not having to wear a dress. And maybe then I'll kill Sam for making every time we run into each other awkward and tense. Or maybe that's my own doing

*enters the party, heading down the stairs, careful of the dress Dee found for her which is almost too long, then skirts past the new vice president with a grimace, as he's already covered in women, and heads for the bar*

*is dancing with Lee but notices Sam's entry*

*tries not to watch her and moves a bit closer to Lee, unaware of the looks he's throwing her*

Could I just have a water? *smiles sweetly at the bartender, then turns, drink in hand and watches the dancers, eyes drawn to Starbuck and Apollo*

*feels Lee's hand on her skin and stiffens, losing her rythm and bumping into Boomer and Crashdown*

*shifts and looks away, absently drinking from her glass, trying desperately to think of other things or pay attention to other people*

*gets really uncomfortable and pulls away from Lee* I need a drink. *doesn't wait for an answer and heads directly towards the bar*

Ambrosia. *notices her hand trembling slightly and clenches her fist*

*downs her water almost too fast, but doesn't choke on it* Bartender. I'll, ah, frak it. Give me a shot of your strongest liquer.

Make that two. *accepts her glass of ambrosia and takes a sip from it before emptying it in one go*

*downs the shot and gasps as it burns all the way down* That's good. I'll have another.

*downs her too and nods at the bartender when he looks at her to see if she wants another one too*

I see you found a dress.

So did you. *sips her shot, considering* Am I still allowed to say you look beautiful?

*swallows and stares at the drink before downing it as well*

*puts it back down and looks at Sam* Dance with me?

[galactica_hussy]

*drops her shotglass, the last few drops dribbling onto the bar as it rolls back to the rim and falls behind the bar* What?

Forget it. *intercepts a drink the bartender was about to give someone else and moves away from the bar*

Shit. *looks at the bartender* Just give me the damned bottle. *yanks it out of his hands and downs a large mouthful*

Frak, that was really stupid Thrace. *downs the drink and dumps the glass on a table to the side while her eyes scan the crowd, stopping on Baltar who seems to be an easy distraction*
