The gender!fail, on the other hand, is a huge problem and one that could be easily fixed by the writers. There are many characters who could've been written as female without changing much of the story. Why not have Lucifer or Uriel or Chuck played by female actors? What would that have changed?! They could also improve this by giving the few surviving female characters more to do. Where's Anna in all of this?! Why does Meg only pop-up for a two minute scene, then disappear for the rest of the episode?
Unfortunately, the gender!fail on SPN has been consistent throughout the entire series (unlike BSG which started off in quite the opposite situation) and I don't see it changing anytime soon. I still think the coolest thing the writers could do at this point is to make God a woman (Gina Torres or Grace Park, perhaps? :D) It'll never happen but it would be AWESOME!!! 'Cause you just know Dean would have to hit on her and the eye-rolling would be epic and hysterical:)
