I rewatched Farscape: the Peacekeeper Wars tonight, just because. Which led to me searching for Farscape soundtrack music on youtube. And listening to some of the stuff I found I realized something. I love the 3rd/4th season opening music almost as much as I hate the 1st/2nd season music (at least I think that's when it switched, I can't remember for sure now). I don't know why my reaction is so different, as it's very much the same song just a different arrangement. But yeah, can't stand the first version, wish the second was longer.
Also, I'm in love with the Avatar soundtrack. Sure you can hear pieces of other Horner scores, but it's still beautiful and affecting (and frankly pretty much all the 'epic' composers reuse their stuff, Zimmer and Williams are both guilty as well). Jake's First Flight makes me want to hop on a banshee and go for a ride (...OK, that sounded vaguely dirty), and War and the Destruction of Hometree both make me want to cry, just a little. I even like the Leona Lewis closer, though, you know, not a lot (mostly I just don't like Leona Lewis)
