I watched some of the new Leverage episodes this last fall and loved it, but haven't had time to go back to season 1. Thanks for reminding me! Torchwood is one I keep hearing about (I'm just a little jaded about British shows after I started out loving Hex and Robin Hood...and then things went less than well).
For #3- Action/SciFi/Fantasy are the genres I seem to enjoy the most so I think that's what I should write. I'm more likely to spend lots of time perfecting it if I actually like what I'm doing. And of course I seem to be nearly incapable of writing anything that's truly gen, so bits of romance will no doubt be there.
I actually have one really solid idea that stems from reading my great grandmother's memoir, but it would be more of a straight drama/comedy, so I'm not sure how well I'd be able to stick with it. Plus it'd be set in the 20s which means research, and I'm lazy. But my grandma and her high school roommate (she lived on a farm so roomed with families in town during school year) dressed up like men and took a road trip. I don't have many details, the only thing in the book is a photo with a caption that makes no mention or explanation of why they were dressed as men. I need to pick my mom's brain on that as she's the family historian and probably has details that aren't written anywhere.
But I digress. Yeah. SciFi/Action/Fantasy mainly. Really I'd take anything though. It might be more creative to take a 'normal' idea and figure out how to put it in space. Or something. I don't know. Writer's block sucks.
