Calling all scifi fans
I want feedback about interest in a possible project. This is about Mass Effect, but it's not limited to fans of Mass Effect, and in fact is targeted more at people who don't know the story
For those who don't know, Mass Effect is a series of 3 video games. They are extremely plot based. The plot is a big, huge, epic space opera which is incredibly detailed and ate my brain with awesome. You have the ability to make thousands of choices that effect the story as you move forward. The characters are awesome and many are hilarious. I laughed, I cried, I died a lot at first, it was a good time. It's a pretty darn feminist friendly series, with a few eye rolling things, but the fact that you can play as either a man or woman and no one treats you any differently (mostly) is a good start, and there are some truly amazing women in this story (and most of the men don't suck, which is also good).
As I've been tweeting and reblogging things on tumblr, several people have expressed interest in the story but have indicated a lack of desire for the gaming aspect, or simply uncertainty. And that's understandable. First you have to have equipment capable of running the game, which if you don't already have can get expensive. Then you have to dedicate many hours to playing it, which is intimidating if you aren't a gamer (which, for the record, I'm not really, these are the first games I've played since Zelda).
Now, there are already lots of walk-throughs on youtube, but I've been considering doing my own, in part because it just sounds like fun, but also to provide an opportunity for those of you who want a good scifi story to view it without having to invest the money or time in gaming if that's not something you're interested in. I don't know if knowing it's me playing would make it more interesting than just finding a random stranger to follow. But I have other ideas about that.
So basically, I would play the game, all the way through all 3 games, and record as I go. Not all at once, obviously. I would split the recordings up into easily watched chunks of time and post them as I go. I've been playing pretty much every day, so it would probably be updated fairly regularly. Basically, I want to lay it out kind of like a TV show, so that even my friends who aren't gamers can enjoy the story, because it really is awesome, and affected me in a way that no scifi has done since BSG ended. But there are a lot of different things that I could do with it, so I'm gonna leave y'all some polls.

Please please please let me know if anyone's interested. I'm really excited about the idea of doing this, but there are a million and 10 videos on youtube already, so if my friends aren't interested, I don't know that there's much point in adding my inexperienced ass to the pile.
