Stollen from...well, actually an SPN community party post tonight (the fandom is insane, but I like this little corner of it I found, well enough...as long as I don't read certain types of posts...and I like the sunday party posts....sue me).  I decided to copy it here, because I think my flist will appreciate the people I chose more.

First, select your ten fictional characters (from any medium) by
whichever method you like best. Then answer the questions below.

My list of characters was:
1. Kara Thrace (BSG)
2. Aeryn Sun (Farscape)
3. Jo Harvelle (SPN)
4. Jo Lupo (Eureka)
5. Zane Donovan (Eureka)
6. Sam Anders (BSG)
7. Nikita (Nikita)
8. Olivia Dunham (Fringe)
9. Claudia Donovan (Warehouse 13)
10. Alex (Nikita)

1.  Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Who would you slot in each position: Leader, Lancer (second-in-command), Big Guy, Smart Guy, The Chick? If you think the team would be improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you switch?.

2. Gender-swap 2, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?

3. Compare the matchups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible?  Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?

4. Your team is 3, 4 & 9. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?

5. 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?

6. 2 finds him/her/itself inserted into 6's continuity. As far as anyone other than 2 or 6 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 2 be presumed to have had in 6's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?

7. 3 and 5 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?

8. 1 and 2 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 4. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 4 survive? How?

9. 6, 7, 9 & 10 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?

10. 3 and 8 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by sidequests or their own personality conflicts?

1.  I picked all awesome, badass people, so it could go either way, really, but I think I’d have to go with Even. Aeryn Sun, Jo Lupo, Sam Anders, Olivia Dunham, and Alex. Olivia is the leader, something Aeryn is not thrilled with, but she’s new to Earth culture and is willing to accept the Lancer position. For now. Sam is the Big Guy (have you seen his arms?), Jo is the Smart Guy (thanks to all those study sessions with Zane…where I’m sure studying is all they did, yup, totally), and Alex is the Chick, but that’s just an act she uses to lure people into a false sense of security. And then she punches them in the face.

2.  Aeryn becomes Aaron, Olivia becomes Oliver, and Alex…well, stays Alex.  I think Alex would have the most difference in her story. For Aeryn and Olivia, their gender is really not an issue, outside of their love interests, and that’s never the main plot for either. For Alex…it’s not that boys aren’t kidnapped and sold into sex slavery ever, but it’s not as common as girls, or at least it's not talked about as much. Since this is TV, where they typically only show women as victims of sexual assault even though it can happen to anyone, if Alex had been a boy I do not think he would have been a Russian sex slave as a child. A victim in some other way, sure, but not like that.

3.  Kara and Olivia, Zane and Claudia. These are actually really excellent matches. Zane and Claudia have actually met, even though they’re on two different shows (thank you canon crossovers, how I love you). They’re both super smart geniuses with a sarcastic sense of humor.  And they aren’t related, despite the same last name. But he is quite a bit older than her, and Claudia is fairly stunted in the social maturity area, having spent most of her formative years trying to rescue her brother from an alternate universe space time thingy. I think that, when it comes down to it, Kara and Olivia would make a pretty fantastic couple. Both have only canonly been with men, and yet I would totally buy them in a relationship together. I think they would relate to each other and be able to help each other get through some of the awful things that have happened to them.

4. Jo Harvelle, Jo Lupo, and Claudia Donovan. I would legit pay cash money to see these three amazing ladies team up, in any capacity. Jo Lupo, having been in the Special Forces, takes the physical challenge, naturally. Claudia Donovan, being a super genius, takes the mental challenge, naturally.  Jo is a little hesitant about the social challenge, since being raised in a bar around hunters wasn’t exactly prime training ground for understanding normal social situations, but she got enough exposure when she was out hunting on her own, practicing getting information out of people, that she handles it just fine.

5. Nikita becomes the boss of Kara Thrace. Wow, that would be interesting. I think Nikita would understand Kara’s rebellious and unconventional style. Kara may chaff at having someone with Nikita’s dubious past put in charge of her, but she would recognize Nikita’s intelligence and loyalty, and respect it.

6. Aeryn suddenly shows up in Sam’s world. I think it would be really hard for Sam to deal with someone new that everyone else thinks has always been there. Even if Aeryn was insisting she hadn’t been, I think Sam would be really worried she was a Cylon or hallucination, or that his memories had been messed with.  Again. I think Aeryn would be able to blend with the fleet fairly well, if Sam gets it together enough to give her a few details. She was, after all, raised for military service. She can follow orders. The different flight controls might give her trouble at
first, though…

7. Jo (Harvelle) and Zane. Hmmmmm…I think Jo would want to spend one last day with both her parents, alive and happy (just one day, not resurrection, as that would be screwing with the natural order too much and she wouldn’t want to risk it). Zane agrees because he wishes his parents had loved him the way Bill and Ellen loved Jo. Zane wishes that he could have all of Old Zane’s memories from the alternate
timeline, so that he can understand his past, and hopefully current and future, relationship with Jo Lupo. Jo agrees because she understands what it’s like to have complicated feelings for someone. For the third wish, they think about doing something big, like world peace, but they agree that it’s too risky. How will a big wish like that be accomplished? Will some emotion sucking monster emerge to suck out everyone’s emotions, leaving the world full of apathetic people? Big things could have too many consequences that they couldn’t predict. So, each having gotten something very emotionally important to them, they decide to blow the last wish on a deluxe vacation to Vegas, where they each win big and Zane uses the money to help fund GD whenever the DoD wants to cut their budget, and Jo uses her winnings to help out hunters
who are down on their luck (you know, like the Winchesters…)

8.  Kara and Aeryn vs. Jo Lupo. Holy fucking shit. This needs to be a real thing. Listen, if someone is reading this and you don’t know who these ladies are, you need to understand, these are 3 of the most badass chicks on my list (add Nikita and Olivia in there and they could
dominate the world). They each have an extremely high level of military training. I think Kara and Aeryn would get close. Very, very close.  But Jo lives in Eureka, a town full of genius scientists and really freaking high security. In fact, something brainwashing those two probably came from Eureka, so all Jo has to do is lure them into GD and let the scientists figure out what’s screwing with their brain and fix it.

9.  Sam, Nikita, Claudia, and Alex. Wow. That’s a really socially awkward bunch of people, lol. Well, not really, but I mean…OK, Sam
isn’t from Earth. He lives in a polytheistic society, and as far as I know, they don’t have an exact holiday that correlates to Christmas, so he’s very confused by the whole thing. But Nikita gets him to dress up as Santa. He’s a professional athlete turned resistance fighter. He can handle the pressure of having little kids crawling all over him. Nikita is the one planning it all. It’s just like planning and op, really. Plus, Nikita is all about finding happiness where you can.  Claudia is tech support. She puts on a light display like these kids have never seen before, and they’ll never forget it (just don’t tell Artie she borrowed a few artifacts to help spruce things up). And Alex?  Alex is an orphan herself. She’s been through terrible, terrible things and seen a lot of painful and horrific things in her life. She’s the one who goes to that little girl in the corner who refuses to participate, and gets her to come out of her shell, just for a little bit. She’s the one who can understand them.

10. Olivia and Jo on a quest to travel the world? Yeah, that’s not going to happen.  First they’ll notice something freaky. And then they’ll spend three days arguing over whether it’s caused by fringe science or something supernatural.  By the time they finally figure it out and make the problem go away (most likely with guns), they’re a week behind schedule, and they’ve only gone 100 miles before they notice something else hinky. Face it, these girls are just too focused on helping other people.
