You never fail me, SPN fandom
Just when I was thinking I hadn't seen any good fandom wank lately, Supernatural delivers.
Apparently Sera Gamble had the audacity to say that Dean and Castiel would never be in a canon romantic relationship because Dean likes women.
Cue people throwing a fit, including lots of 'how ignorant to ignore bisexuality' comments.
Look, people, in real life, yes, saying someone must be straight because they've only ever been with people of the opposite sex is silly. Sexuality is very complex and individual for each person.
Dean is not a real person. He is a fictional person. He does not feel anything outside of what he is written to feel. Sera Gamble, as current showrunner and therefore arbiter of what Dean feels, can say that Dean is 100%, and it's true.
I'm all for more bisexuality on TV, and I'm all for people who want to write/read/engage in whatever slash/femslash fandom activities they want even when it's not and never will be canon.
But attacking a show runner because she said that, no, really, this character is really straight? Really?
ETA: Haha, wow. Apparently Sera didn't even actually say that, it was a troll tweet. About half the fandom doesn't seem to have gotten the message, either. Priceless.
