1.  I suppose I should talk about Supernatural.  I have this weird hate/hate relationship with the show.  I stopped enjoying it sometime last season, probably around when they offed Ellen and Jo.  I just don't care about the characters anymore and so I can no longer overlook the numerous problems with the storytelling.  Yet for some reason I can't stop watching it.  Maybe it's like watching a car wreck?

Anyway, that was a really boring premiere.  Sam was a dick, Bobby was a dick, Samuel was a dick, the rest of the numerous Campbell cousins were dicks (with bonus token female!) with shitty lines that made them all look like douchebags right out of the gate.  Basically, Dean and Lisa were the only likable characters.  Color me shocked.  Still a Dean/Jo shipper at heart, but they gave Lisa back her personality and I don't hate her.  I enjoyed her "Did you almost shoot a Yorkie?" and how even keeled she was about everything.  I do, however, call bullshit on her saying the last year spent with a PTSD suffering headcase who drinks too much, has nightmares, and sleeps with a loaded gun and holy water under the bed was the best year of her life.  Enough good times that she doesn't regret it?  Sure.  But best year ever?  Really?  The birth of your only child doesn't rate higher?

And to top it off, the monster of the week was boring.  The children of a monster killed 4 years ago finally get around to getting revenge, and behave in a way that has nothing to do with how the rules of the particular type of monster were set up previously.  I get that they're using it as a plot point, that post apocalypse monsters are acting strangely, but if that's just code for "letting write whatever the hell we want, continuity and established mythology be damned" then count me out.   Lazy, lazy, lazy.

ETA: You know what's also not helping my good will?  Here's the list of characters that Supernatural has resurrected over the years (and I mean literally brought back to life, not just brought back in some other guise):

Sam
Dean
Castiel
Bobby
Samuel Campbell
Adam (even if it was short lived)

Notice anything about that list?  Yeah, good luck coming back if you don't have a penis.

2.  I keep rewatching DW while I'm downloading the older episodes.  Or rather, I keep rewatching River's episodes, plus the Eleventh Hour, plus random scenes from the other episodes.  I love River Song.  Could you tell?  Have I mentioned that before?  Small moment I love from Forest of the Dead, when Ten realizes she's saved on the screwdriver and has to get it to the harddrive before the ghost disappears, he shouts "You and me, one last run".  I don't know why I love that so much, but I think it's beautiful.  Like, he still has no clue who she is, really, but he's already accepted that he will and she will be important to him and they will have many adventures.

3.  Speaking of the other DW episodes, I've watched a few, but I'm kind of watching them randomly and out of order.  I don't really know why.  Just, sometimes the preview for the next ep doesn't look that interesting to me, so I just kind of keep skipping around.  I'll get to all of them eventually.  I've met Rose, Martha, Donna, and Amy now.  Are those all of the companions?  I still like Amy the best (her "Are you mister grumpy face today...*pout*" will never not make me giggle), but I think Donna is probably my second favorite.  She's just so brash.  Propriety be damned!  And her game of charades with the Doctor in the season 4 premiere, followed by the realization that the baddies were watching them, had me literally in tears.

4.  Another random thing I thought of recently.  If Cara shows up at the castle in Princess already dressed up, who did her hair?  I mean, the Mord Sith wear their hair in braids, so I'm sure she's capable of taking care of her own hair, but there weren't a lot of mirrors hanging around, and the hairdo she sported in that ep was a little more elaborate than anything we've seen the Mord Sith do with their own hair before, and it greatly amuses me to picture Zed and Richard having to team up to tackle the difficult task.

5.  I finally have my biopsy this Thursday.  I'm still not really freaked out and instead am still stuck on 'do not want needles in my neck'.
