Blah blah Monday
I feel like...I haven't posted anything lately? Which I know I have. But I think it's been mostly personal stuff, and maybe that's not very interesting for people? This is why the TV season needs to start, so I can have fandomy things to talk about again. I'm kind of burned out on my other fandoms right now. I mean, I still love BSG and Stargate and Farscape and all of those, but I've talked about them so much, and I've watched all the episodes either a lot or very recently, so I feel like talking about them would be repetitive right now. I need some space to get a new perspective, I think.
But, speaking of fandoms, never watched an episode of Doctor Who in my life, but everyone on my flist loves it, and in particular everyone seems to love the new guy and Amy Pond, so when someone on a media exchange offered up the last season for download, that's what I spent my weekend doing. Episode one may have just made me a fan. I don't know that I want to go back to the earlier seasons, as David Tennant...isn't really my cup of tea. But I love Matt and Gillian (those are their names, right?). And Rory! If I thought he was a one off character I might not love him (I would have liked him still, but not love), but since I already know he's coming back, in a fairly major way, I love him. He's adorable, I just want to squish him. And I love Amy's accent. And her hair. And her attitude.
I also put the second season of Chuck on my Netflix que (watched season 1 awhile ago but Blockbuster doesn't have beyond that and I was going through Stargate Atlantis on Netflix, otherwise I would have done it sooner). I also keep meaning to watch the X Files. I plan to check out Community as soon as it's available (although I've found that with sitcoms I usually like them better on DVD, in marathon sessions, rather than live once a week, so even if I like it I probably won't watch it this fall, sorry McHale, I still love The Soup). Any other YOU MUST WATCH THIS shows?
And finally, in dream news; right before bed I was thinking about Stargate, and what SG1 looked like after Sam left to join the Atlantis expedition, and then captain a ship. I think I've decided that everyone else stayed with SG1, because thinking of the whole band breaking up makes me sad. But then I was thinking, who took Sam's place? Because I think, as often as they get into trouble, they'd need a science officer with them. There's just too many things that could go wrong that the others wouldn't be able to fix without someone super smart like Sam. So then I was wondering if they would replace her with a woman or a man, like, if it would be the next Samantha Carter or the next Rodney McKay. And then I went to bed and had a dream that they replaced Sam with Jeanie McKay, and now I think I need fic?
