Taking lunch early was definitely the way to go. The dining hall filled up rapidly once the noon-bell rang. Hungry patients made up the bulk of the crowd, while nurses on break huddled together at their own tables, and security prowled around keeping an eye on everybody.
Kuukaku had made a point of arriving as early as she could, before the rush, so she could bolt down her meal and find a good view of the action. With all of her preferred pasttimes denied her, people-watching had come to make up most of her entertainment. Most days she waited in the garden or gymnasium, but watching the crazies play with their food was today’s order. Unfortunately, it was starting to look like she’d made a poor choice; any drama she may have hoped to witness was apparently taking place elsewhere.
