So. Pondering.
I had all these trips I wanted to take this fall. But now money is super tight. So I was just going to go "oh well" and lament a bunch that I can't go, while hoping to make something work out.
Then, I decided to clean out my email box. Came across my confirmation for my trip out to California in June. I thought, "hey, I should make sure I got mileage credit for that trip!" And I had. And I thought "hey, I should check my mileage balance!"
I have 102,000 miles.
This presents me with a bit of dilemma. I could do a few things with this.
1. I could use these miles to go on my trips. 20K miles for trips under 725 miles, 25K for longer trips. This is trips in the US only.
2. 100K miles and I could get TWO FIRST CLASS round trip tickets within the US.
3. 110K miles and I could get TWO round trip tickets to Brasil or Europe OR ONE FIRST CLASS round trip ticket to Brasil or Europe.
I've never gone anywhere first class. That could be very fun. Obviously, I'm short for #3, but just barely. Going on my locally planned trips would certainly help me get to that mark, if I earn miles for them instead of using miles for them.
And then there is also the option of some combination. Use some miles for one of my "local" trips, save the rest for one of the bigger trips.
Decisions, decisions...
