So at crossfit on Saturday the workout was:
200m Run
10 Kettlebell swings
15 Sit-ups
As many rounds in 18 minutes.
I managed to get in 9 rounds. I had never done kettlebells before. I used a 25 pound weight. I am now very, very sore in places I never thought I could be sore. It's weird because the kettlebell swings didn't feel hard at all. Since you're using momentum to help you out, it seems really easy.
Staci led the class this time, which was new for me. I like her methods quite a bit. She's very thorough and made sure we warmed up plenty before and stretched out properly after the workout. It was also nice to hear from her and Katie that I was doing awesome and should show up more often. I'm thinking about getting a punch card and showing up once during the week as well as on Saturdays.
I really wish I could get Dennis to go with me.
Dennis did, however, drag me out for a hike on Sunday. It was really nice. Despite how crowded the Metroparks were, we didn't see a single other soul on the path we took, which was awesome. Hiked about 3 miles. I need new hiking shoes though, my arches are killing me today from that hike. No idea why those shoes always make my feet hurt - even if I just wear them to work and don't walk around all that much. I'll be keeping an eye on
Steep and Cheap this week to see if any trail shoes pop up.
I did some yoga Sunday morning which helped the soreness, I should probably do some more tonight.
