Shogun
We've been checking out the DVDs for the mini-series Shogun.
All in all, I thought it was pretty good. The sets and costuming were amazing. The acting, although a bit overly dramatic at times was good. The plot, a bit confusing. It would have helped if I knew more japanese; the movie is not subtitled, and the narrator doesn't always translate every last bit of japanese that is spoken on-screen.
The ending was weird, however. See, the mini series comes on 5 DVDs. But the 5th is just the extras. So we watched the 4th, it came to the end, which is a bit of a cliffhanger/limbo, and we were expecting more, and left wanting. Rather disappointing. I think if we'd known that the end was the end, it wouldn't have been so bad.
