Stash depletion

So I am on a "get rid of yarn stash" kick for some reason. Mostly because I want to buy new yarn, but have nowhere to put it.

My mom has a co-worker who she wants to buy a Christmas present for. This woman is one of those obsessed with her dog types, so my mom was going to buy the lady something for her dog. Or rather, my mom asked me to make a blanket for this woman's dog. A Saint Bernard, no less. So using some left over really fluffy yarn I quickly whipped one up. It's not that great, but I used up all of the yarn of that variety that I had, and that was the yarn that was taking up the most space. If mom doesn't think it's good enough, I'll take it to the dog shelter and see if they want it.

Last night, Dennis asked me to make baby booties for his nephew. I started on those this morning. They supposedly take an hour. Per boot? Per pair? I think per pair. I figure I'll have them done by tomorrow.

This weekend I need to put in work on the finishing touches of projects. Last night, I sewed my mom's purse together with the sewing machine. To be honest, it did not work as well as I'd hoped; the back side of the stitching was a horrid, horrid mess. If it wasn't going to be on the inside of the purse, I would have ripped it all out and assembled it with the yarn instead. Need to go to Jo-Ann's and buy some buttons for the booties and mom's purse, and buy some ribbon to attach the purse handles with and some snaps to hold the top shut.

I think I'll continue working on these smaller projects until Christmas, and then I'll start on my mom's blanket.

I really should work some on those pants that I started last September and get those finished at some point!
