Yay for progress!
So I finally finished the blankie I was working on! And I took a couple
pictures of the
finished product. (ignore the messy bed it is on)
I am happy to have that project done, and I was able to find a box for it, and it is no longer dominating my coffee table.
I also managed to untangle the horrid mess that was the yarn I was using to knit those mittens. I should have taken a picture of the knot. But it's all normal again, so I can work on that other mitten!
I took out my sewing machine yesterday, finally. I went to Joann's and got a whole bunch of doodads for it that I probably don't need, but got anyway. I purchased some spare bobbins, a bobbin case, two marking pencils (one for light fabrics, one for dark) some thread, and a set of varying needles for different fabrics. Oh, and randomly some crochet thread for a little side project.
I can forsee having way too many projects.
So I managed to figure out how to thread the machine, and I took an old pyjama shirt and started toying with the stitches on it. Turns out it is quite the bad thing to use as a first time dealybob, since it is very stretchy fabric. But I have a better idea of what the different stitches do now. I'm still scared to use it on 'real' fabric, cause I don't want to mess up.
And aside from projects, I did two 'loads' of dishes. One 'load' equals about one sink full. We don't have a dishwasher. I also cooked dinner last night! I over did the rice a bit though, and while I was quite happy with the result and found it nummers, Dennis thought it was just ok. Well, yeah, I had some damn big shoes to fill! But he was quite happy at not having to cook for a night. Poor thing is just completely worn out from work.
But it is all quite happy, and it is quite cool to have that feeling of "I made this!" :D
