2006

So New Year's was interesting. Went to St. Louis to the SDS Brew-ha-ha for those who know what I'm talking about. There were 21 people there. And two cats. Most of the people were either SDS or Green. Seven of us were counted as 'misfits' as we didn't fit into either group.

There were moments when I had an absolutely awesome time. There were also moments when I wanted to kill people. I get cranky when I don't get enough sleep. I got very little sleep and was thus very cranky often.

We played some D&D. Most of us were complete newbies and so it was rather interesting. The party was pretty big too, so each round took forever.

The seafood bisque was damn delicious. We also had Popeye's chicken twice. mmm... Popeye's.

Watched a ton of movies. I crowned myself czarina of entertainment and pretty much dictated what everyone else would watch. I hate asking "what do you want to watch?" and have people go "I dunno, whatever." So I did all the choosing. Occasionally, I would let them vote between a smaller selection. There was much kung-fu. Kung-Fu Hustle was awesome.

I got an awesome ring holder thingie, the kind you keep next to the sink to prevent you from losing your rings when you wash your hands or do the dishes. It's an adorable little s'redit with a long, upraised trunk. Pewter.

I did most of my drinking the first night. Camden mixed me up a drink that was Blue Curacao with Vodka. In a large blue plastic cup. I only managed to drink 3/4 of it before I was quite drunk.

Oddly enough, except for one incident with the hubby, none of the guys at the party managed to annoy me even the slightest bit. They're an awesome group though, so perhaps it's not so surprising. I miss Gwyn, Kevin and Don the most though; they were great to talk to.

My new car is awesome. 17+ hours of driving, and my back really isn't horridly sore. Just mildly sore.

I played some Soul Caliber III which I'd never played before. Totally kicked the ass of the first two guys I challenged, then Camden beat me. I decided to stop after that and go out on 2 out of 3. Besides, I don't play much, and so I got gamers thumb pretty quickly and it was crimping my style.

We also played Apples to Apples. Fun game, and I kicked ass in that one too. I got smacked a few times by Kevin for beating him out on a couple of the cards.

Once again, the talk of moving to St. Louis came up as we were leaving. I dunno. The two times I've been there have been in winter and early early spring. So the place is gray and icky. Not that Cleveland is any better, but it's been my home all my life, so I'm used to it and can deal n such.

doings, tarvalon
