car troubles

The car ran out of gas this morning. At first, it wouldn't start. I figured it was my fault for letting go of the key too soon, before the engine had actually turned or whatever. So I counted to thirty, slowly, and tried again. Voila. No probs.

So we get on our way to work. Halfway to the highway, the car starts sputtering and just dies. Now, according to the gas gauge, I still had a quarter tank left. Stupid POS car. Luckily, dad had warned me about this, and I had a full can of gas (about 5 gallons or so) in the trunk. Dennis got out, put that in, and we went to the first station we could find, and I put about $15 in the tank, and re-filled the gas can. Can't fill the tank up all the way because then all the gas would just leak out.

I am really beginning to loathe this car.

Last night, we had a wicked storm blow through. Hurricane force winds out on the lake. Trees uprooted. There's a small airport right on the lake, and the little puddle jumper planes and helicopters were thrown around like toys. It was pouring rain so hard, I could barely see. I could only drive at 20 mph. And with the humidity, the windows in the car started fogging up. Neither the front or rear defrost work. And because of the downpour, I can't open the windows, even a smidgen.

We need a new car, and soon. Hopefully my dad will have fixed the Lumina by this weekend. I miss my car.
