Summary: It looks like the end of everything they knew... Will their world collapse?
*MASTERPOST* Masaki slowly closed the door and leaned against it, looking at Sho's back. The older man was nervously walking around their hotel room, with his mind working on full speed. Aiba took a deep breath and exhaled all the air he had in lungs with loud sigh.
"Stop thinking about it at least for a while or your head will explode." The taller man whispered and sat on the bed of the left side. Whether it was mistake or a planned action but their room had two single beds with big, immovable nightstand in between. Border Watch officer stood next to the window and looked at the night city, now peaceful and sleepy.
"I am just worried about you."
"I am fine, you shouldn't be worried..."
"Masaki, one of the former vessels is dead, the other one went missing and you get the invitation to Vatican... This doesn't look like a coincidence anymore. I don't think we have much more time before you will be called to the headquarters... I am not even sure if I will be allowed to go with you."
"You sound as if you thought Border Watch stands behind all of this. Isn't is blasphemy, officer?" Aiba tried to joke but neither of them laughed. Sakurai leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes. He rubbed his temples and sighed loudly. The younger one saw clearly that the latter is very tired but his thoughts won't let him sleep peacefully, if the let him rest in the first place. It seemed there was the only one way to make Sho relaxed and able to get some sleep...
"Nee, Sho-chan..." Masaki got up and walked slowly to the older man. "Remember, that stupid postman interrupted us before we left Chiba..."
"Masaki, it's not time for..."
"Oh, come on... We won't do anything with investigation till the morning anyway and I want you..." The last three words were said with low voice, which made Sakurai open his eyes wide and look at his boyfriend. Aiba smirked and his hand almost immediately landed on Sho's, placing it on his crotch to show how horny he was.
"Masaki..." The Border Watch officer whined, but his movements denied his tone. He gently pushed the younger one towards the bed and when they fall on the mattress Sho joined their lips in heated kiss. Taller man smiled and slowly unbuttoned Sakurai's shirt, exposing his chest and stomach which already forgot how to abs. Soon the piece of clothing landed on the floor, followed by the taller man's T-shirt. Neither of them utter a word; only the moans filled the air, mixed with sounds of struggle with resistant belt.
"Hope you took lube..." Masaki whispered, looking straight at the other one's face and beaming when he saw that mischievous smirk.
"I took the handcuffs also, but something's tell me we won't use that today..." Sakurai licked Aiba's bottom lip and moved away to get the needed liquid. The younger man hummed, staring at Sho's butt, tightly bounded in jeans.
"Stop that or I'll think you like me in my jeans more than naked..." The officer joked and laid on top of Masaki, pinning his hands above his head. The latter shrugged and wrapped his legs around Sakurai's hips. Older man chuckled low and joined their lips again, making the kiss insatiable and parting only when both of them needed some air. After making sure that Aiba won't move his hands, Sho got rid of the rest of clothes they still had on and which became magically tighter. The officer gently kissed his lover's inner-thigh, enjoying the slightly salty taste of his skin and without a rush moved towards rock hard member. Teasingly, he licked the base slowly moving up, French kissing the tip and after a while, which seemed to be a year, he sucked the head gently. From time to time Sakurai stopped every move, making the other one keep his hands up.
"Not fair... I can't touch you... I want to touch you..." Masaki whispered between moans and pushed his hips up, letting more of his erection in his lover's mouth. As an answer Sho deepthroated him few times and let already fully rock, leaking member out with soft pop sound.
"I want you to touch me too, but not now... I want you to be less delicate than usually... Insatiable, just as..."
"Just as if it was our last time?" The taller one stated and sat up, looking straight in the latter's eyes. "You should just say Masaki, make love to me as if it was our last time and stop torturing me..."
"Masaki... Make love to me as if it was our last time..." The officer whispered somehow desperately and didn't protest when Aiba almost ripped his pants off of him and threw them away. In seconds Sakurai was trapped between his boyfriend's thighs, feeling the younger one's tongue all over his chest, marking small circles around his sensitive nipples. Every move was rushed but also just the way it should be at this moment, spontaneous and thought through at the same time. Masaki slid down, licking Sho's member and smirked with every moan that left the older one's throat. The taller man grabbed the bottle with lube and smeared the liquid on his lover's erection, rubbing the leftovers on his entrance.
"Look at me, Sho... Don't you dare to close your eyes, look at me..." Aiba positioned himself and lowered himself on the latter's member not stopping until he was fully inside.
"Fuck, I forgot how big you are... Give me a second..." Masaki winced and leaned forward, supporting on his hands on both sides of Sakurai's head.
"You keep forgetting that, I should feel offended..." The Border Watch officer said with low voice and thrust up, making the older one moan loudly. "I never forget how tight you are..." Sho continued his movements, slowly at first, letting the other one adjust and at the same time not explode just yet from the sensation. The younger man blushed and soon moved his hips, meeting his lover halfway. Air was filled with fastened breaths, moans and sounds of two bodies clashing against each other. Each move pushed them closer to the edge and when the right spot has been hit, Masaki tensed his muscles, intensifying the sensations.
"M-more..." Aiba groaned hungrily, leaning more forward and kissed his lover sloppily, reaching to his own member and stroking it fast. The taller one felt familiar warmth in his stomach and spilled his semen on the latter's chest and stomach, tightening around his lover even more. Few thrusts later, Sakurai stilled, coming inside his boyfriend. For a while neither of them moved, enjoying their sweet tiredness and closeness. Masaki whined quietly when the older one slipped out of him but immediately got trapped in tight embrace.
"Nee, Sho-chan..."
"Mmm?"
"I love you..." Aiba whispered sleepily and yawned.
"I love you too, Masaki. Very much. That's why I wanted to talk about..." Sakurai didn't finish the sentence, hearing calm and even breath of his lover. "Sleep well, Masaki..."

"Where are you going?" The taller man yawned and rubbed his eyes, still drowsy. Sho was hurriedly buttoning his shirt, cursing quietly when he missed one button.
"I want to go to the headquarters to check how much they will tell me. If they let me in, in the first place. I should be back before lunch. You can wait for me here..."
"Are you saying I can't go out?" Aiba frowned and looked at his boyfriend, remembering the times when The Treaty was in his body.
"It would be better if you stay here. Better and safer. I promise, I will be back as soon as I can..."
"You're forgetting one thing Sho. I am not the vessel anymore and you are not my guardian. I want to talk to Sachiko and find Nila. I can talk to them and this way make things go faster..."
"No, Masaki. You will stay here until I get back then we will go to talk to Sachiko. Listen, I am worried... One former vessel has been killed, Nila doesn't answer your phones and now you got invited to Vatican. I just want to protect you, that's it. Please, stay here and wait for me." Sakurai pecked the latter's lips and took his bag. After mumbling some soft goodbye Aiba was left alone, frustrated and a bit upset. He understood Sho's way of thinking but he didn't agree with it at all. They didn't have time to be extra careful, not after yesterday's explosion. The younger man took a quick shower and after making sure his phone is fully charged he went out the room, heading to Ninomiya's and Matsumoto's chamber. Masaki knocked gently to the door and bit his lower lip. It would be better of somebody knew where he was going, just in case something unexpected happens.
"Ah, the cute one came..." Kazunari mumbled, sleepily and moved back in the room, leaving the door open, so their guest could get in. Aiba followed the younger man and sat on the chair near the small table. He didn't know what exactly say, so he decided not beat around the bush and tell everything as simply as he could.
"I need to ask you for a favor... I am going out to look for Sachiko. I need to talk to her. If I won't come back before 1:00 PM or won't contact you in any way, can you call Sho and tell him where I went?" The tallest man frowned and looked at the two other men pleadingly. Ninomiya raised his eyebrows and Jun's mouth slightly open.
"And why exactly are you going out? If you are so scared that something can happen, can't you go with your personal bodyguard?" Matsumoto asked, scratching his head and yawning. Masaki shook his head and took a deep breath. He told them about Sakurai's fears and about his own thoughts and after few minutes of persuading, both Dark Watch officers agreed to help. The tallest man thanked them and left the hotel, still having his hair wet after the shower. He didn't know which way to go, but guessing Sachiko will be somewhere closer to Vatican, he went in that direction, dialing the woman's number. After first four tones Aiba thought she won't pick up, but decided to keep waiting, in case if she is taking a shower or still sleeps.
"H-hello?" Weak woman's voice sounded like music on the other side of the line.
"I am sorry I woke you up, Shouge-san but I need to talk to you as soon as possible. Can I meet you now?"
"Aiba-san? Of course you can come! I have many things to tell you!" Sachiko seemed to beam through the phone. After giving Masaki directions, she hung up, leaving upset and a bit anxious Aiba in thee middle of Rome. He lost his way few times but when he finally reached the hotel, he was glad it wasn't that far from the building he stayed at. Who knows, maybe he will manage to get back before Sho returns? Masaki looked at the clock and sighed with relief when digits on his phone showed few minutes past nine. From some reason he was sure that Sakurai won't be back before noon for sure, imagining the safety procedures in main headquarters of Border Watch really time-consuming.
Masaki waited in the lobby, as he wasn't allowed to go to Shouge's room alone. The woman appeared soon and threw away all conventions, she hugged the latter tightly.
"You have no idea how good is to see familiar face here!" Sachiko said and sat in front of Aiba. She didn't change a bit for all those years, maybe she was a bit more dutiful.
"Shouge-san, I want to ask you about few things here..." Masaki got straight to the point. "Can you tell me what's going on here? Why I was called?"
"To be honest I am not one hundred per cent sure, I have one serious suspicious though." Not bothering to lower her voice, as nobody in the hotel except them understood Japanese, the woman continued. "They are just one step away from inventing a synthetic vessel for The Treaty. I am here to share all my knowledge and experiences, probably you and other former vessels are here from the same reason?"
"What about the killed boy? Do you have any information about him?" Masaki asked, hoping the woman will give him answers he needed so badly.
"Unfortunately no. Just that it was cruel murder, I heard he was stabbed around dozen times, but that's it. Why are you interested in that case? Did something happen?" Sachiko frowned and looked at the latter with curiosity. Aiba felt he shouldn't tell anything about their investigation and that Matsumoto and Ninomiya were in Rome as well. She might heard about the riots in America and other part of the world but involving her in this case was way too risky and dangerous.
"I am just curious. He was a good kid, at least I so I've heard. Did you talk with Nila recently? I want to see her, since we're both in Rome."
"Hmm... I saw her three days ago, in Vatican. She was wandering on the halls of headquarters. We just exchanged greetings, nothing more. I heard she lives in a hotel nearby, just few blocks away but I am not sure if it's true."
"And how are you finding Rome? You surely are too busy to enjoy it, right?" Masaki asked but didn't listen to the woman sitting in front of him, limiting himself to incoherent sounds and nodding. Was it possible that Nila lived in the same hotel he stayed at? Was he so close to his friend all this time? After a short while and exchanging their point of views on Italy's capital, the man bowed politely and left the building, stopping few meters away from the entrance, in the place he was sure nobody will spot him. Vatican wants to build a synthetic vessel for The Treaty... Aiba felt this was some kind of lame excuse, as the most important document for all three Watches didn't have physical form. And how exactly they wanted to extract it from the human vessel? The usual passing is done by a kiss, but it's The Treaty which decides whether leave the current vessel and fill the new one. It also is highly intelligent form of life which is impossible to trick. Does Border Watch really think it can be fooled so easily and put it inside some cold computer? Or maybe they invented some kind of A.I. which can pretend a living person without any difficulties?
"You're going way too far..." Masaki whispered to himself and chased away silly thoughts. Right now the most important thing was to find Nila and talk to her. She always saw more than regular person, noticing the smallest details that was really easy to miss. He was sure that his friend knows something, everybody else didn't even thought about. Taking deep breath Aiba decided to call Nila again, hoping that she will answer this time. After seven tones, when all he could hear was very sweet and polite voice mail, he hung up, feeling the worry and anger crawling to his throat. He looked at the clock and sighed. It was just a bit after half past eleven so he still had some time till the set time Matsumoto or Ninomiya will call Sakurai. Masaki didn't want to go back to the hotel just yet, trying to fit the pieces of puzzles in his mind and fresh air always helped him in that. Slowly, without even thinking which way is he going, Aiba walked, lost in thoughts. He recalled the times he was the vessel, how Treaty reacted on his decisions and what that experience brought him. He hopes that this will make everything clearer and easier to understand. Before he even noticed, he got the place where Huang Fu died. It was easy to guess, seeing really big pile of sand dyed red with the boy's blood. Next to this place, on nearest building wall somebody painted a small and at first glance ordinary sign but for people who knew, it was a secret Border Watch symbol. From the amount of blood on the sidewalk, spread practically everywhere Masaki guessed that the Chinese boy didn't give up easily. Aiba knelt and gently touched the sand, praying quietly for this lost life when suddenly he heard someone yelling in Italian. He turned around and saw a policeman heading his way, talking in his native language and apparently chasing Masaki away. He didn't have any other choice, so he bowed gently and went back in the direction he came from. There was no time to waste on any more pseudo-investigation, so he decided to go back to hotel and maybe ask about Nila there when his phone rang. Aiba looked at the display and opened his eyes widely the most wanted name he wanted to see.
"Nila? Thank heaven's you called me... Where are you? I need to see you and talk to you!" Masaki asked overwhelmed and happy he will hear his friend's voice soon. All he received in reply was silence, soon followed by a splash and woman's scream. His heart stopped for a while and not letting panic control him, he looked around and decided to go near the river. This was the only water nearby and all he could think of was to rescue Nila, no matter how hopeless it seemed at that time. Masaki ran, pleading to the skies that he will find the right place immediately but Tiber was too long and too wide to make that task easier. The man ran in circles, not sure which way he should go and losing the every small piece of hope he still had few second ago. Where she could be?!
"Nila!!!" Aiba screamed, looking around and trying to spot even the smallest detail which could help him find the woman. After twenty minutes of fruitless searching Masaki sat on the bench, catching some air and fighting with tears willing up in his eyes. One last time he ran near the river's bank and after few minutes he saw a scarf, lying on the ground. Masaki picked it up and watched it closely and noticing Nila's initials embroidered with green thread. The material was stained with blood, a lot more that could be consider as bleeding finger or any other not serious injury. Aiba held his breath and started to look around, hoping to find Nila alive but all he could see was blood. Everywhere he looked, his eyes was caught by red stain on the bank, the grass, under the bench... It was more than obvious that the woman died and her body was thrown to the river... With shaking hands Masaki took out his phone and called the only person that came across his mind, not bothering by the tears that ran down his cheeks and squeezed his throat.
"Masaki? I will be home soon, you won't believe what I found out..."
"Sho... She's... I couldn't help her..." Aiba's legs started to shake and didn't give him any support.
"Masaki, calm down... What happened? Where are you?" Sakurai sounded really worried but he couldn't get any coherent reply from his boyfriend. "Masaki, please go back to the hotel. I will be right there, okay? Please, calm down..."
"Sho-chan... Nila is dead... She called me and then somebody murdered her... I couldn't save her..." The taller man bit his lower lip and held his breath just to calm down. "I am going to the hotel now. I will see you there... Oh, and Sho-chan..."
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry I didn't listen to you. I should stay in hotel... I..." Masaki couldn't say any other word, as he felt strong pain in the back of his head and world became black.
