As much as I would love love love to play dumb and say that Indy4 was terrific and everything I'd hoped it would be and then some.. I can't. And accepting that makes me so sad.

Even when Elliot says it was awesome you can hear that twinge of i-dont-really-mean-it-edness.

We had high hopes. Too high, I guess.

I was disappointed, too. And Little Keith seems lukewarm about it as well. He likes the IDEA of Indiana Jones, but the movie was boring for him for the most part, I think.

I mean, I dunno. I have really good memories of the old Indiana Jones movies, but when I watched one of them (can't remember which) recently I was like "this is so corny!" lol. It was much cooler when I was a kid. But this one was just... like... I dunno. Aliens?! Really?

Yeah. Elliot and I watch the older movies pretty frequently.. and although they are admittedly corny I still enjoy them more than I enjoyed the new one.

And I'm not a fan of Shia Lebouf or whatever so that certainly didn't help. (although after thinking about it for a bit he was good for the role)

Do you think they're going to make more with him as the lead?

Honestly I've liked Shia in a few movies.. Transformers and Disturbia (granted that's all I've seen him in aside from Indy 4).. and he fit this role well to me also.

I made my list of what made this movie hurt my soul... I was trying to fight that feeling.. "No No I want to like it.. NO NO!" and then when Shia became Tarzan and the monkeys attacked the russians for NO REASON, they had then lost me completely and nothing could redeem that entire scene. From then on I just embraced every moment that made me want to stab myself for what it was... crap cashing in on our nostalgia.

I still thoroughly enjoy the first Indy films.. the 3rd one in particular. Any corny moments are not "that" corny and work with the entire atmosphere the movies portray. A fun story with an intriguing plot involving some religious artifact... and surprising twists! I never expected the blonde girl in the 3rd one to be a Nazi!

I kinda like Shia LeBeouf... I think he's cute.;D

It seemed like at the end they were saying that they WOULDN'T make movies w/ him as the lead, because he tried to put the hat on but Indy took it. So that was sort of a relief. I liked him OK in this role, but he could NEVER replace Harrison Ford. Never ever ever!!!!

I didn't even think about it like that. That is an excellent point (with the hat). I hope you're right!

And AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH lost tonight. 'Case you forgot.
