Remember me?

I'm baaack!

I'll write more about my trip/vacation in another message, but I wanted to chime in on the power outage thang.

When I left my home in New London, power was on and fine. When I got to my client's home, about 20 minutes later, it was off there (Montville, CT). When the mom came home (I massage an 11 y/o kid w/muscular dystrophy) she brought the news of the REST of the story, as it were.

When I left, my friend Dave called from Cleveland. No power there. My SIL in Stafford, CT said that the power "did something weird" but never went off. At my own home, my husband noted that the power was off for all of 30 seconds. We were really fortunate that our only power interruption was that one.

I'm soooooo glad this waited until AFTER my drive across country, and after my flight back from California!!

"Drive across the country?" you say??

Yep! *GRIN* That is exactly what I did with my friend Tammy from 11:30pm, August 4th, 2003 (Eastern DST) through 10:30pm, August 8th, 2003 (Pacific DST). (101 hours total, including stopping two nights to sleep, and includes all bathroom, meal, and sightseeing stops)

We stopped in Cleveland to have lunch with my friend Dave Coxe.

Tammy and I saw The Badlands (we took a helicopter ride over them!)
We also drove through Sturgis, the best biker rally ever!
(mmmmmm...... long-haired Harley Boys.... oh yeahhhhh)
We saw the most amazing Sunset in Montana!!
In Yellowstone Park, we bathed in a natural water source that was made up of
a river with a boiling river flowing into it - the water was not warm, it was hot and cold!!
Old Faithful is a really neat geyser, and worth the wait.
Lake Tahoe is amazingly beautiful, and the trees there are
scrumptious! Tammy drove me through the most exciting, amazing roads
through Tahoe. Inspiration point is the most scary place on a road *EVER

I passed through my brother's birthplaceof two men that I love, my brother and my love, in the last hour of the trip, Fairfield, California (. Then we passed by where my family lived at the time - Mare Island, (Vallejo). That always makes me swallow hard, because that's where I started my (rocky) adolesence.

At long last, we reached my love's home. *soft happy sighs commence here*

Three and a half days of love later, I flew back to the East Coast, where it really was good to be home.

My life is changing dramatically, as I leave private practice and begin my journey as a teacher of massage and massage-related subjects (like Anatomy and Physiology).

Stay tuned for more details.

Oh, did I mention that my brother lives here now?

No?

Oh.

More on THAT, too.
