Yeah, I love John too.
And I don't think he really was a woobie in Exit Wounds, he just adapted to what the situation needed - after all I think he wanted Jack to want him back; and he wouldn't have got that with sarcastic comments over Tosh's dead body or frozen!Gray.

Actually I think there aren't enough really awesome John/TWTeam fics out there, atm.

Jack ... wonders how such a good con-man manages to get taken over and over again. Well, if Ianto (or Gwen) managed to do it, maybe he wasn’t that good after all.

You do have to wonder, don't you...

I find it easier to believe that he was a crap con-man than that Ianto could have out-foxed him if he were any good.

I really liked this. A departure from what has become the common genre in fanfic. I always thought how interesting it is that fans have made that dance scene in the wedding a romantic scene for Jack/Ianto when it was really a mock of Ianto and a different yearning of Jack for Gwen. He did say he came back for her when he found her ring. I would love to read some fic that introduces Jack with other characters, never thought of the Master!

It takes massive amounts of self-deception to see the dancing scene as being about Jack/Ianto, beyond showing Ianto clinging to Jack while Jack barely acknowledges him.

Jack/Master is a great guilty pleasure because I feel that Jack loves the Doctor, but the Doctor loves the Master, so the dynamic is totally twisted.

it would have been so easy for Jack to stay for a few days & get what he wanted - but he knows that he wouldn't really be getting what he wanted. Ianto's whining clingyness doesn't charm even in Gwen's body & it was fab how you made him realise that - well done. Loved it. Will there be a continuation or sequal?

This may be my last statement on the matter for awhile, especially considering how much I got Jossed.

I've been playing with the idea of this AU since the 2nd series to try and show how pathetic and useless the Jack/Ianto "relationship" was as shown. It was fun to actually make it real.
