“At least I did my job,” Cuddy felt herself returning to her usual position of power over Cameron in spite of the current situation. “Now you do yours. Right now all I see is a little girl playing with grown up toys and who the hell told you to go with the whole Flashdance look? What is this 1985? Either fuck me or untie me so I can do it myself.”

Cameron blinked, taken aback by the onslaught.

“All right. You don’t have to be pushy about it,” she muttered, moving quickly to follow orders.

I love this bit the most--Cuddy ain't no one's bitch, and I can so see Cameron looking all sulky and sullen even though she's trying to be the one in charge. It's surprising that Cameron is canonically kinky, with her penchant for public sex, and this is the first fic I've read that both explores that and makes it seem realistic. Like she does play dress-up and assume a character in order to make sure she stays in control, even if it isn't her.

So did she lift Annette's contact info from Chase's address book? More importantly, did Annette teach by example? I've been hoping to see some Annette fic for ages...

I got the idea of mentioning Annette very late in the writing, but I do have some pretty hot backstory images of Annette teaching by example.

I'm glad the whole thing came across as realistic. I had this whole hot "fantasy B&D" idea going on and I just couldn't make it work. Cuddy's sarcastic voice kept coming through no matter how hot and bothered she was, so I had to go in this direction instead. It's a fine to keep something like this in the realm of the "real" and not lose the hot.
