As someone who's been singing for ten years, even if not all of them were "serious", "Don't Rain On My Parade" is a pretty hard song to sing. Obviously, I'm nowhere near as good as Lea, but to do a decent job, you have to have incredible breath support and stamina, as well as a fairly wide range and upper extension.

I do agree with your other point, though; it's not a ballad, and I don't see how it could be qualified as one, especially for a competition.

It's hard, but not as hard as "And I Am Telling You..." And yeah...NOT A BALLAD. I don't know why this bugs me so much. I know we got to hear Mercedes performance in the rehearsal room, but the fact that Rachel ended up getting that moment in the actual competition, with everyone bowing to her superior talent and then using a song that didn't actually qualify, really put me off. If she wanted to do Babs in Funny Girl, there's still People and My Man among others.

After nearly two weeks of that Uganda horror-show, it'll be nice to have some good news on the gay-rights front.

I still cannot belive this Uganda thing. How could anyone treat other people like this?! >___o It's so outrageous. I wanted to hit something or someone when I was listening to that unlicensed "I'll make you straight if you pay me" guy...

It's horrifying, but the reporting that Rachel has been doing exposing the connections between the Family/C-street crowd and the creepy Ex-Gay Guy and the Uganda is amazing. The annoying part is that it's not getting picked up as a major story when even CNN et al are starting to buy into the "climate-gate" rubbish.

I agree with you completely on the "Don't Rain on My Parade" comments. I mean, I liked the song and thought she did fine, but it isn't a ballad and it's really not as impressive as the other song.

Plus, you know, I wish Rachel would get killed off the show, so...

I actually thought the best number was the one they did for Mr. Schue at the end.

Yeah, Rachel....man that is just one annoying character.

That song was cute, but I spent half of it going, "Is he in the room? Is he not in the room?" It was distracting.

Someone got a little over-zealous with their editing machine.
