You had me curious about that so of course I had to go and check how far back the list went. *g* The earliest fic on the list that I could find a date for is Four Blocks South of Eden by Syal, dated January 9, 2005. The first House fic I know of is Dilemma, posted to housefic in December 2004. So yeah, this list has history, man.

I'll never understand why people post fics on the net and then get upset when others dare to rec them. I can understand not wanting the fics archived without permission, but a rec? *shrugs*

Mine is people who post fics under F-lock, but still pimp them to communities.

I sort of understand why someone would do that. There's one members-only fic comm I belong to. The owner has always been very careful to separate her fannish life (heh, typed "lie" there) from her professional life. The comm's unmoderated, it's easy to join and leave, it's a compromise.

OTOH if it's that critical to keep those lives separate, it might just be better to take the fics down altogether. Why run the risk at all?
