can you imagine the hatred that would be getting spewed at Gwen right now, (not counting the hate she’s getting for being alive and pregnant and Rhys not being dead) if she’d had the temerity to say her “I love you?” (And how vindictively happy the J/Iers would be over Jack only saying, “Don’t.”) Yes, yes I can...
Although if *I* were dying I'd like to think that is the time I could pull the self-centred thing - after it would be my last chance - gotta make the most of it.
I'd be the slightest bit sympathetic if he hadn't spent the past three episodes and part of series 2 doing the exact same thing. Then it might have had some emotional impact instead of feeling like more of same.
“Gorgeous husband?” Really, Gwen? You have to give them that they're awfully sweet together in episode 2. I really felt bad that I still want her to be with Jack at some point, in some way or the other; the moment passed, though XD. I wouldn't call him gorgeous (duh.. no way, Kai Owen might be an absolutely nice guy, but totally not my type) but Rhys is trying his best and he's supporting Gwen although he just must see that there is something between his wife and her boss.
I still think it's kind of tragic what happened there in Thames house.
And the end scene when Gwen's walking into this hall with all the bodies to where Jack and Ianto are lying... it's so sad and she looks so beaten as she straightens his tie and so helpless when she whispers "There's nothing we can do.".
Gwen and Rhys are sweet, but considering the other person referred to as "gorgeous" is Jack, I found it amusing, and Rhys is a total doofus if he can't see the Jack/Gwen chemistry. (Of course there seems to be a fairly large contingent of the fandom who can't see it either sooo....)
The scene at the end was beautiful. The way he instinctively reached for Gwen told me a lot more about their relationship than all of the awkward talk between Ianto and Jack for the whole series.

And I don't think Rhys doesn't see the chemistry. I mean... I absolutely loved him in Meat with the: "I just wished you were a bit uglier" and "not gay, by any chance, you?" and also at the end as he tells Gwen that he doesn't mind Jack because at the end of the day she's coming home to him. Duh... this speech was almost some kind of a free ticket (duh... I miss a proper translation for "Freifahrtschein") as long as he doesn't catch them in flagranti on the couch table or something. So he does realise it, but maybe prefers not to see, as obviously Jack and Gwen are trying most of the time too.
I still can't get over the sheer relief knowing (unless Rusty is planning to stab us in the back) that I'll never have to look at another J/I scene again.
But anyway, she is very lucky to have him. If TW continues and her pregnancy goes along fine... well actually, I would be ridiculously unsurprised if they chose to take the "lol Mr. Mom" route. But hope springs eternal.
I think they wanted Ianto to make the call so the government would find Gwen. Otherwise they wouldn't have seen that Torchwood really had the goods on them.
“Gorgeous husband?” Really, Gwen?
He's the guy who is going to stick around and help her raise the baby instead of haring off to the other reaches of time and the universe. And he is kind of sweet.
I thought the goverments just willing to give in like that was horrifying. I did like the woman saying we have to have some sort of decision rule.
Jack is like House, getting sex from wherever he can and avoiding forming real bonds with people if he can help it (except people who are off limits like Gwen or Wilson). Because a real ship would kill much of who the character is in the show. Ianto got too close to being a ship, so Ianto had to be got rid of. Why can't Shore do that with Cuddy?
Well I'm not asking for Cuddy to be killed off, just for the relationship to be written realistically. (cough cough --Deal with the fucking infarction-- cough cough)
I still think Ianto is more like Cameron in his relationship with Jack/House.
Rhys is sweet, but I just refuse to buy into the "Gwen can't fuck Jack because of poor Rhys" routine. IT'S JACK!

I think it's because it's Jack himself that she can't, not Rhys. Jack's not going to stay faithful and or even to stay around (although BBC has announced they've picked up a season 4 of Torchwood). I get the sense (although I may be wrong) that for all her feelings about Jack, she still wants the happy family life and babies (as does Wilson) and Jack's not going to provide that. Sleeping with Jack is going to kill the relationship she's got with Rhys. it's because of who Jack is that she can't do it.
I still think Ianto is more like Cameron in his relationship with Jack/House. I think Cameron had the potential but she never travelled down that road as far as Ianto did. She only acted that way when she thought she could have a relationship with him but then she learned she was wrong. Ianto knew the score with Jack and if he didn't in the beginning, he certainly knew it when John Hart came along

Leave her alone, she's in love ;) Yet more compelling evidence that love is blind
As for the rest: HELL YEAH. Sing with me people! Ding dong, the witch is dead!
