Private room!

Apr 26, 2009 09:03

At least for the time being, which is a blessing like you cannot believe. One of the things that really worked my last good nerve the last time around was the dueling, blaring tv sets of the noisy neighbors in the next bed.

For now, hubby is in a private room. It won't last. Technically he shouldn't even have it because normally they charge big bucks for that thing, but right now there's no other bed available. As long as that situation lasts, he gets to keeps. As soon as someone either kicks the bucket or gets well enough to leave, it's back to the dorm as it were.

We spent a few hours watching Swine Flu coverage on CNN (because weekends on MSNBC consist of massive amounts of To Catch a Predator and Lock-Up (Fill in your favorite prison.)

Then we watched the first episode of Touching Evil. Yay for British Mysteries and Robson Green. I'm still confused about the ending, but who cares? Robson Green!

We also watched a few NCIS episodes on USA. I'd always thought we needed to start from the first season, but it seems to be such a generic procedural that it doesn't really matter. The inter-personal dynamics ain't all that complex, Mark Harmon has aged as well as any man who was ever People's Sexiest Man Alive, and OMG-David McCallum. (NCIS/Hustle crossover, please?)

I'm off to Oakland for an abbreviated hair day. Yeah, my husband is in a Nursing Facility, but my hair must be attended to because those nasty gray things are coming in fast and furious. I'll come home after brunch and go up to Lawton this afternoon. No Karaoke today, but I might drop in after they kick me out. I'm getting my nails done tomorrow too. You want to make something out of it?

OK, tiny bit defensive.

THE BIG THING on Monday is going to be dealing with the bike. I got a letter saying that we need to get it out of storage or the SFPD will sell it for lien. And it's accruing costs the whole time it's there. Bastards!

I don't have my glasses on yet, so this is probably full of typos.
