I can't believe it, but it's actually happened. Barack Obama is the President of the United States of American. It's a good day to be an American, or a citizen of the world.
So far my first day back at work is quiet. According to Steve, the stuff I was worried about before I left turned out OK, and there were no unexpected disasters. Presumably everybody stayed home to watch the innauguration, but due to the time difference, the LA and SF offices could perk up within a few hours.
Hubby reports that first week back at work went well, although by Wednesday, the leg was getting pretty rough. It's good to have everybody and everything back in our usual schedule. I got another great night's sleep last night.
Things to do:
1.
ppth_support post.
2. Pimp post
3. Squeeee Odyssey post-the people and the shows.
4. Work on responses to the
Impossible Pairings Meme 5. Make copies of New Yorker Articles I want to share from the copy I was reading on the trip. There's one about an Italian comic/activist named Beppo Grillo and one about Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark NJ. Please let me know if you'd like a copy of either one. They're both fascinating. Cory Booker has been on Colbert and Rachel Maddow several times. In fact, last night Rachel said he was the first guest she interviewed when her show started.
6. Send John Barrowman a get well card.
7. Start compiling Disk 2 of 2008 Boxed set-Torchwood/Dr. Who
Hopefully there will not be any interference from callers expecting me to do my job or something. I hate it when that happens. Not to mention the conference call is today, but I tend to zone out on those anyway.
