I actually had the first draft completely written before I saw your post about loving Sam on his knees and was both happy I was giving you what you like and worried that the whole fic was just a compendium of LOM smut cliches.

Glad you could go with the Sam/Annie. Even though I'm bi-fictional, I'd never really planned to write them because I'm all about Sam/Gene. Then the whole "comfort and joy" dichotomy hit me and BAM! Besides, you gotta deal with canon, even when "subtext" is as in-your-face as your icon.

Thanks again for throwing the fabulous party and giving me the inspiration to write this. Believe it or not, it's the first (ahem) full-blown Sam/Gene I've written since coming into the fandom.

Thanks, sweetie! As you can see, this is seriously schmoopier than anything I'd ever write for House or TW, but once I decided to do it, this is what came out.

Sam/Gene are awesome, completely and totally, but I think Sam is torn and the situation lends itself to some bi-fictional smut.

I'm pretty sure Sam is torn too. I know it's Sam/Gene that jumps out immediately, especially if you wear the slash-glasses, but Sam/Annie is to some extent canon, and I can't see Sam being willing to go for one without dealing with the other.

It's really quite sentimental for me, as I'm basically an angst-queen, but tis the season and all. I'm also a canon-junkie, so while I believe in the Sam/Gene subtext (barely sub) to my soul, I also think that canon (Sam/Annie) has to be dealt with as well.

I'm very leery of threesome writing, but I may have myself backed into a corner here.
