Humor is always important. It ruins a lot of good writing that people take any situation involving sex so seriously. And it's an art not to write "generic sex" which so many people do. It's been my experience that people don't abandon their personality as soon as they remove their clothing. :)

Of course it's hard to imagine anything with David and John involved ever being totally serious.
