Masks off!

At least for the time being. Muni, BART, UBER, and best of all, THE AIRPORT!!!! I can see and hear and breathe at work for the first time since we came back from Lockdown in October of 2020. There are no words for my level of happy-dancing. I'm double vaxxed and boostered and I'll get the 2nd one as soon as I can. This is pretty much the #1 thing I've wanted since this nightmare started.

Aside from all the other things...my old shift, my live yoga classes, and live 12 Step Meetings. That's not really happening yet. And in same cases, it's not going to.

Work is crazy. We're open 6AM to 7PM and I'm working 1045AM to 715PM. Everybody wants us to extend the hours because so many people are on red-eyes. Unfortunately, we are grossly understaffed.

We are also without an on-site team-leader and I've been told pretty emphatically that applying would be a waste of everybody's time. I genuinely do NOT want the responsibility and the amount of work involved, but my ego definitely wants the prestige the validation of being given the job.

God's time, not my time.

QI Rewatch-Back to series 1

Aside from the "early installment weirdness" of the first few seasons, there's the number of panelists we've lost since then. In Series 1: Linda Smith, Jeremy Hardy, John Sessions and Sean Lock. In some case two RIPs in a single episode.

It's awesome to see the beginnings of the running themes: How many moons? Blue Whale. Pliny the Elder "Prone to interference by minicabs" never gets old.

Episode 4 really stood out for a few reasons: First Gyles Brandreth appearance. Stephen seems much more tolerant of his know-it-all name-dropping than Sandi is now, although other panel members are already eagar to take the piss. First Rob Brydon appearance, and so help me, even though I swear I've seen the episode dozens of times, it's the first time I've understood why Rob Brydon told the Alec Guiness and James Dean story when he did. (Yes, I am an idiot.)

Also, the Michael Portillo wet cement story, including the reference to Portillo's "cheesey grin." This is the first time I've seen the episode (I think) since hubby and started watching Portillo's "Great Railway Journeys" shows and became obsessed with those appalling color combinations.
