Took a long bike ride with Hubby up the Honoapiilani Highway, about as far as we could go before it got really scary, which was about 9 miles and back. Stopped along the way for an AMAZING SMOOTHIE here!

Since we had decided that biking to the Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar show at night was not feasible we had the lovely Linda pick us up in a cab and take us for $60.00 instead. We had awesome pupus at The Sea House and took a walk around the Napili Kai Beach Resort. It's gorgeous and has a nice beach, but it's just not our kind of place. Too isolated, too froofy.

Then the show. I really enjoyed it this time, as opposed to last when I don't think I did so much.
The opening act (as always) was the Da Ukulele Boyz, followed by the special guest artist, Sean Na’auao. He was awesome. Great guitar-playing, singing, personality...apparently he used to be in a group called the Mana’o Company, and their big hit was THIS DITTY...which has become my favorite "happy place" song. Yes, it's a bit cheesey, but listening to it makes me so happy. It's one of my best memories of the trip.

Then the headliner, George Kahumoku Jr. Singer. Storyteller. Farmer. Awesome dude.

Just a really fun night of music. Small crowd, which was kind of cool, since Hubby actually won a CD in the drawing.
