I like this. It's been years since I watched BtVS, but I remember I always liked Giles. I feel kinda sorry for him here... but I could see this happening.

Thanks! I LOVE Giles so much, especially when he gets his few BAMF moments. I KIND of ship him with everybody, so it's not like I'd never thought about this. And considering the "showdown" between dark!Willow and Giles much further down the line, it would certainly explain a lot of the tension in that scene.

You are an awesome writer, to have worked so much into one little smut piece. The reference to dysfunctional familes was a nifty bit of insight into Giles. As were his guilt-ladden thoughts. It was THIS, though, that really got to me: "only he knew exactly what demons of the personal variety were festering inside." Thinking of Ripper-Giles with Willow gave me the chills.

I'm REALLY glad this worked for you. The snarky Spike in Giles head line was especially fun to write and I liked reminding Giles of his own demons.
