Thanks sweetie! It took me this long just to get Gene in the room. I've never had a character fight me so hard and that includes Lord High Whiney Butt from Torchwood. I love Gene and I love Sam/Gene, but the longer I've been in the fandom, the harder it is to get Gene out of the self-loathing of his time. I'm really glad I was able to at least get this one written. I hate having unfinished fandom obligations.

“Not this one, Cinderella. You’re tying the knot in less than five hours and Cartwright’ll have me bollocks for earrings if I deliver you in anything less than mint condition. You shouldn’t even be here.”

I could *hear* Gene saying this.

I love that Annie uses reverse psychology on Gene, clever woman. I really felt for Gene here, in all his self-hatred. But I like that he took this moment, this night.

Sam is so greedy!

Thanks for writing this, it's fantastic. Your Gene voice was amazing.

Thank you so much. I KNOW this is a much darker look at Gene's views on himself in this relationship than you generally enjoy, but for nearly three years, I've tried to argue him into anything more accepting and it hasn't worked. I ship Sam/Gene as hard as anyone, but I still hear his monologue about Stephen Warren and that informs everything else.

It literally took me until 48 hours ago to come up with any circumstance where Gene would agree to it, so a big YAY to Annie for being the awesome character she is.

And another big YAY to you for being the awesome person and moderator that you are.

Oh, I like this!

I can totally see Gene trying to fight it. Fight Sam and Annie on this. He wants Sam, doesn't want to lose him but he knows that he's Annie's, especially now. How lucky he is that she's that willing to share.

And after they've shared this special night with him, I'm sure his resistance will be less and less.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I doubt that Gene is ever going to be 100% comfortable with himself or the sharing, but MAYBE things can get a little better.

This is great! Awww, Gene... The self-loathing is saaaad! But at least he had one night he'll remember for a long long while!

It is sad, but if I was ever able to see a fluffier side to a Sam/Gene relationship, I've kind of lost it. Thanks for reading and commenting. I haven't written LoM in a while and it felt good to channel the Guv again.

As others have said, your Gene voice truly is excellent. For all that I write a lot of shameless fluff, I very much enjoy reading stories where the characters have to work for their happiness, however short-lived it may prove to be.

Gene's legs giving out under him is really very hot, especially after his thought that he can totally take both of them kneeling at his feet. And Annie...blimey, Sam's got himself a catch there.

Thanks for your marvellous contribution to the fest! I'm so glad we could persuade you to write again.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity and for your kind words. I know it's a lot darker than even what I wrote in the original story, but back then I was really a lot of Sam/Gene and I think I may have been swept away in the fandom Zeitgeist. Now it's much harder for me to get past what we KNOW Gene thinks of homosexuality.

I'm glad I was able to get some hot in there too. Even with the angst-fest, I still wanted to have some decent smut.
