The end of year is still a week away, but Christmas finds Ducky with Auld Lang Syne on the brain.
The year has brought such sadness and regret. Even Seeing Walter Magnus again was a bitter-sweet experience. Perhaps some Auld Acquaintances are best forgot.
“Nae, Donald. A man with your friends is lucky indeed.”
Ducky spends enough time with the dead to take the appearance of Robert Burns in stride. He’s been drinking an exceptional single malt after all.
“Aye,” he agrees, thanking Rabbie for reminding him of something he’d known all along.
He’ll raise a cup of kindness yet.
