We've actually seen the Flecktones live in concert a few times, including Hardly Strictly about three ago. They always put on a great show, although I don't necessarily consider them a group that you have to see live to appreciate.
Also, we saw Bela in person at the Roxy Theater for a documentary he was involved in called "Throw Down Your Heart." He seemed to be just as nice in person as he comes across on stage and in the move. He actually signed Hubby's banjo.
I've never had the chance to see them perform, but they play them a lot on our local jazz station, which is how I discovered them.
Your hubby has a banjo? Cool! Is he a Steve Martin fan too?
BTW, very sorry about your finch. Birds are tricky, health-wise, and I probably wouldn't have one again (I've had 3 budgies, and like you, I think one committed murder by beak).
If you're experiencing low blood sugar, that's not good, especially if you're trying to exercise every day. PM or e-mail me if you want some info on a healthy diet that's worked for me in the past (not really a diet, more like a permanent way of eating; no money involved except buying one paperback book). I don't push my opinions on others, so you can just ignore me if you're not interested. But please don't let your blood sugar run low, 'cos that's dangerous.
If you get a chance, look for a DVD called "Live At The Quick." It's an awesome concert, with some great guest performers and the DVD a fun "backstage" extra featurette as well.
