It's good to know Annie gets what she needs (and if Sam's so nice, he or she won't mind).
I, on the other hand, miss inverted commas at the end of two sentences :). Commenting, like knitting, should not be attempted before coffee.

As obvious as Sam/Gene is, and I do ship it, I'm so much more attracted to the rare-pairs in the LOM/A2A verse and I think Gene/Annie has a lot of potential. Pegging? Mmmmmmm.

Sam/Gene is obvious and amazing but I think after a while, the rarer pairings in a fandom with a big pairing can often provide more interesting ideas and dynamics in general. I have always thought Gene/Annie could be interesting, not only through writing it, because I don't think Annie would let Gene get away with his... erm... Gene-ness in a lot of ways. Not unrealistically but in the sense of "you act like that, I'm putting on my clothes and going home," and meaning every word - and doing it if he doesn't stop.

I wish some of the Sam/Gene hard-core shippers could see the awesomeness that is Annie. It's not as bad as the female hate in some of the other fandoms, but I think she is seriously under-appreciated to put it mildly.

As much as Annie will always seem to abhor the crassness that is Gene Hunt - I reckon she'd go for the Gene Genie. Nice
