Torchwood: Miracle Day-Episode 10-SQUEEEEEEEE POST

Sep 10, 2011 20:34

My last night of having this much stress because of a TV show, at least for awhile, because I do believe there will be another series. And then I’ll probably go through this all over again, because Russell is that good at suspense and floating rumors.

My thanks to everyone who's been with me on the journey of tension and joy, as well as everybody who live-blogged the East Coast broadcast on Tumblr.

There's a lot of SQUEEEEEE ahead, and some major Jack/ABI smugness. Plus some Eurovision music. The usual people probably shouldn't read this for the usual reasons.

OH GWEN! Freckles!

Creepy creeping blood.

Gwen being BAMF and Jack looking at her with so much love.

Hello Shapiro!

Frances Fischer-talktalktalktalk, but she’s awesomely evil.

“Remind me to arrest you when this is all over.”

Oh Charlotte, I cannot wait for you to get busted. Heh Heh Heh!

Another great Barrowman/Pullman scene. Danes and Jack. So intense. John is so gorgeous here. And his acting is superb.

Andy makes a last cameo. Oh Rhys, it’s all about you, isn’t it? Hopefully the last time I have to say it, STFU RHYS!!!!

KABOOM!

RTD has been having so much fun with the explosives budget. A hearty f.u to all the “Oh Torchwood was better on a cheaper budget. How about, UH, NO!”

Esther gets her Rex moment. (And utters one of the oldest lines in the book: “I’m going with you.”

I LOVE SHAPIRO! I may have to write Shapiro fic I love him so much.

The clinging red dress of eeeeeeeevil! Including a butt close-up.

And an even BIGGER KABOOM!!!!!!!!!

Charlotte escapes in the clinging red dress of eeeeeeevil.

Gwen & Jack ALL THE WAY! (And she’s wearing the jacket she wore in Meat)

Kind of ignoring another holocaust scene.

Boxer rebellion. Jack is the creator? Jack is glad Oswald’s here. WTF?

OH YEAH! Oswald…..with the bomb! Rex & Esther. STANDOFF!!!

OMG CREEPY FLYING BLOOD!!!!!!!!

NOT SO BAD! Indeed, Jack. Indeed!

Oswald holds it together. Whoooooo-hoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Doctor reference. Jack listened to everything the Doctor said. Sharing a gorgeous smile with Gwen.

Blahblahblahblah. The baddies are basically right-wing Republicans. Awesome.

I love it when the baddies go all giggly.

YOU GO REX!!!!!!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

TRANSFUSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“You World War II idiot.”

Gwen shooting Jack…..symbolic intercourse. Plus Christ symbolism. (Just like End of Days)

GO GWEN!!!! YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEW! Massive sigh of relief.

Beautiful monologue by Gwen.

Jack is alive. Not a big surprise. Yeah, I was spoiled, but I was never really worried either. That was all the Debbie Downers and Naysayers. I KNEW Jack was going to make it and he’d be back to his own state. Real!Jack is back in every single possible way, and ready for his next Doctor Who appearance.

“How much bloody lipstick can you wear?”

Jack & Gwen getting out together. Oswald going out in a brilliant display of over-acting.

And the biggest kaboom of all.

Delicious.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlotte lives!

Rex lives.

Jilly lives. The Families is still in business. Plan B. You go Jilly!

UNIT reference.

Charlotte----good-bye!

REX……heheheheheheheheheeheheheheheheheh!

And guess who gets the last frame….hmmmmmmm? And who never said “no” when Rhys was BEGGING her to say “No!” Sorry one last STFU Rhys.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!

So in the final scoring the real!Jack believers got Jack/Brad, Jack/Angelo, including seduction w/dirty talk while ogling a woman, Jack&Gwen so strong even the CIA knows about it, multiple scenes of Jack looking at Gwen with absolute adoration, Jack flirting up a storm, BAMF Gwen up the wazoo. Put that up against three lines of badly written, stiltedly delivered fan service, one oblique reference in response to a mention by Gwen and no actual appearances. I'd say we came out WAY ahead.

I can live very happily with that, and to the whole tense, stressful, wonderful series, I say:

HALLELUJAH!

Kind of appropriate, considering all the religious imagery. Why not celebrate with some Eurovision pop?

(Sing it with me, in Hebrew, if you know the words.)
