House had barely started to unpack when Wilson showed up bearing beer and something that smelled better than it had any right to. He also had a bone to pick.
“Cameron and Chase? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because it’s boring. Boy meets girl. Girl gets high on meth. Boy shtups girl…”
“That was last year. What about this year?”
“What do you care? You planning to ask her out? ”
“It would have been nice to know what I was dealing with before I had to put up with As The World Turns on the Edge of Night while we were trying to diagnose a patient.”
“I heard about that. Nice work.”
His leg said it was time to sit down and find out what was really bugging Wilson.
“Chase is the one who figured it out. He’s getting good.”
House tackled the plate of fried rice and dim sum that Wilson had provided.
“How good?” he asked, making sure he sounded casual.
“Good enough for Cameron,” Wilson said wistfully, giving House the clue he needed. It wasn’t the girl that Wilson had designs on. Too bad.
Now he’d have to fire Chase, just when he was getting good.
