That's marvelous! Too bad you don't have sound files to go with them ;)

That would be awesome, although fare beyond my technological capabilities.

Brill!

My fave 'street' musician is a guy called Ed Alleyne-Johnson who comes from Liverpool (originally not that far away from me) and sells his cds when he is out busking (they're also on Amazon and some other places). He plays a 5 string electric violin with a loop and effects pedal to create some pretty complex music as you watch and has done some great cover versions as well as original tracks. He's a lovely guy.

And this clip is from when he played with New Model Army in 1990 - around about the time when I first came across him.

Very impressive. That "Clocks" piece was gorgeous and oddly familiar.

Back when I still lived in SF, I spent half an hour one day sitting in the Powell station, utterly enchanted, as I listened to a string quartet from the Conservatory.

Do you go back far enough to remember Michael Harper who used to play at the Powell St. Cable Car Turnaround. I was IN LOVE with him for years.

this is yet another reason I love living here. I actually heard a street musician playing rock on a samisen once.

I assume that any major city will have street performers, but I honestly think the caliber and diversity of SF (and maybe the UK) is the best.

I wish the lighting had been better for that one.
