Keith, Keith, Keith....

I love you dearly. I understand what you're saying and I agree with most of it, BUT going after Ted Kopple is not the way to do it and just makes you look thin-skinned. On the other hand, it was always my fanon that Keith was mostly responsible for Rachel getting her own show, and now we have "canon" confirmation ( Read more... )

gutsy.(we'll see how many brains history says are in it.)
But I appreciate that KO gives out few, if any, automatic passes.
As for the right, don't they always find something? It's what they do instead of solving the problems...come up with dumb nicknames for liberals/ Democrats.

I'm being wishy-washy on this one and I know it. Agreed that you can't get the Right to stop bashing and that they'll do it whether you give them material or not. Just not 100% comfortable with where Keith seemed to be going with this or the timing. Maybe I'm also a tiny bit protective of Kopple. I grew up losing sleep because of Nightline.

Neat trick, KO, trying to be the brash youngster at fifty-two. Much as I love him, I had to chuckle at that a little bit.
But some of the criticism does have faintly parental overtones, so I can see it."I don't like your tone, young man!"
"Ed Murrow did it."
"Well, I'm not responsible for Ed Murrow...Ed Murrow can do what he wants at his house."
"No, he can't...he's dead."
Ted's done some good work, for sure...not so much the Comment, but I think the commentary from the blogosphere has been a bit harsh on him.
"Puppet", "Shill", really?
No. I do think journalism has changed without him noticing, though. Maybe there needs to be some No Commentator Left Behind initiative
